1. Set up your research project
Complete the essential fields first. Open the optional groups only when you have more evidence, style guidance, recovery details or school-specific instructions.
Chapter depth and custom page target
Use the default level-based target, or set a custom page range for the active chapter. Very long chapters, especially PhD literature reviews, are developed in staged section batches instead of one shallow pass.
Default target will be used unless you set a custom range.
School-specific format notes
The app completes what it can from the project profile and relevant sources. It leaves a red action only for material information that cannot be inferred or retrieved safely.
Citation-density standard
ProjectReady uses verified referenced works per 1,000 substantive words. The range guides evidence density and is never a licence to invent or pad citations.
| Discipline | Introduction | Literature Review | Methodology | Results & Discussion | Conclusion |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| STEM | 5–10 | 15–25 | 2–5 | 8–15 | 0–3 |
| Social Sciences | 8–12 | 20–35 | 4–8 | 12–20 | 2–5 |
| Humanities | 10–15 | 25–40 | 1–3 | 15–25 | 3–6 |
| Professional & Health | 8–15 | 20–30 | 5–10 | 10–18 | 1–4 |
Only verified or user-supplied sources count. If the evidence bank is insufficient, the draft stays below target and flags the evidence gap instead of fabricating a citation.
Evidence notes and Chapter One autofill
Autofill from Introduction or Chapter One
Upload an existing Introduction or Chapter One to extract likely title, research area, context, objectives, questions and variables. Review every field after autofill.
Researcher contribution and writing direction
Researcher contribution and writing direction
These fields make the working draft reflect the researcher's own context, evidence, argument and supervisor direction. The platform encourages the student to provide as much information as possible, but it can also prepare a provisional draft for consideration, with missing evidence and decisions clearly marked for confirmation.
The protected humanizer has three level: Light, Balanced (Recommended option), and Deep.
Find and attach literature sources
Find literature sources for this study
Search open scholarly metadata sources and attach only highly or partly relevant papers before drafting. The requested number is a maximum, not a quota, so the app may return fewer records rather than include unrelated papers. Verify all sources before final submission.
Use my selected papers
Optional. Upload up to 50 papers that you want ProjectReady to consider alongside the literature it finds automatically. Your papers are prioritised when relevant to the active section. ProjectReady still checks claim support and will never cite a paper merely because it was uploaded.
PDF and DOCX papers are text-extracted. If a DOI can be verified, the paper becomes citation-ready automatically. Otherwise, the paper can support reading and synthesis, but you must confirm its author, year and title before ProjectReady creates a new citation from it.

Academic integrity and user responsibility
ProjectReady AI is a self-service research-development tool. It does not employ writers, accept ghostwriting engagements, sell completed academic work, fabricate data or references, or submit work to an institution on a user's behalf.
ProjectReady AI produces editable working drafts and research guidance, not completed or submission-ready academic work. Read the Academic Integrity and Responsible Use Policy.
2. Select chapter and sections
3. Add your chapter-specific research details
Answer the selected section prompts using your own study decisions, evidence and notes. The app develops the working draft from these details. Leave unknown facts blank so the system can mark them for action rather than inventing them.
4. Evidence, access and chapter development
Previous chapters for alignment checks
For Chapter Two and later, upload the earlier chapter(s) or the complete existing work so the draft can check alignment with the title, problem, objectives, questions, hypotheses, theory, variables, terminology and methods. If the earlier file is not yet available, the app will prepare only a provisional draft and mark alignment issues for confirmation.
Quick strengthening within the Thesis Workspace
Quick strengthening in the workspace
Open the Comprehensive Chapter Strengthener for level-based depth targets, citation-density strengthening, supervisor response matrix and blue/black/red DOCX comparison.
Use this when you already have your own chapter. Upload it, add revision instructions, and the app will strengthen the existing work while preserving confirmed content. Substantive new insertions are marked in red in the preview and DOCX export.
Upload results output
This option appears only for the Results/Data Analysis and Discussion chapter. Upload SPSS/Excel/CSV/Word/PDF/text output so the app can use the actual results in the write-up.

Claim Support Review
ProjectReady highlights evidence-bearing claims that still have no citation and paragraphs below the 2-3 verified-source target. ProjectReady first tries to meet the discipline-specific citation-density target during drafting. Only unresolved evidence gaps are listed here. Search OpenAlex, Crossref, Semantic Scholar, ERIC, DataCite, Europe PMC and PubMed, inspect the evidence, then approve only sources that genuinely support the statement. Google Scholar is available as a manual external search because it is not scraped. Search results are never inserted automatically.

Statistical evidence requiring your confirmation
These values are extracted only from accessible text in a source record. They remain provisional, are shown in red in the working draft if used, and should be checked against the original source before submission.
