Chapter depth and custom page target
Use the default level-based target, or set a custom page range for the active chapter. Very long chapters, especially PhD literature reviews, are developed in staged section batches instead of one shallow pass.
Default target will be used unless you set a custom range.
School-specific format notes
The app completes what it can from the project profile and relevant sources. It leaves a red action only for material information that cannot be inferred or retrieved safely.
Citation-density standard
ProjectReady uses verified referenced works per 1,000 substantive words. The range guides evidence density and is never a licence to invent or pad citations.

ProjectReady always applies a natural academic voice baseline: no em dashes, no stock buzzwords, no formulaic AI-style phrasing, and no inflated claims. This setting controls only any additional refinement pass.

Search open scholarly metadata sources and attach only highly or partly relevant papers before drafting. The requested number is a maximum, not a quota, so the app may return fewer records rather than include unrelated papers. Verify all sources before final submission.

Optional. Upload up to 50 papers that you want ProjectReady to consider alongside the literature it finds automatically. All uploaded papers are represented in a compact evidence map for synthesis; only the most relevant original passages are sent to the writing model for the active section. This keeps all 50 available to enrich the work without repeatedly transmitting all 50 papers. ProjectReady still checks claim support and will never cite a paper merely because it was uploaded.
PDF and DOCX papers are text-extracted. If a DOI can be verified, the paper becomes citation-ready automatically. Otherwise, the paper can support reading and synthesis, but you must confirm its author, year and title before ProjectReady creates a new citation from it.

If an earlier file is not available, ProjectReady can still prepare a provisional working draft and identify alignment points for review.
Optional conceptual framework
Save the framework once to the Research Record and reuse it across the complete proposal, synopsis, research journey, quick chapters and chapter strengthening. Word text boxes and SmartArt are read where possible, while the original Word or diagram file is retained for download. Add path notes for image-only diagrams. The framework is optional guidance, not evidence by itself.

ProjectReady highlights evidence-bearing claims that still have no citation and paragraphs below the 2-3 verified-source target. ProjectReady first tries to meet the discipline-specific citation-density target during drafting. Only unresolved evidence gaps are listed here. Search OpenAlex, Crossref, Semantic Scholar, ERIC, DataCite, Europe PMC and PubMed, inspect the evidence, then approve only sources that genuinely support the statement. Google Scholar is available as a manual external search because it is not scraped. This review is strongly recommended but does not block Word export, so you can use the exported working draft to guide reading and source checking.
